UKBT champions the new tech district in Newcastle Upon Tyne

Newcastle Upon Type is the centre of one of the fastest growing tech clusters in the UK. They are home to FTSE 100 company Sage PLC, Ubisoft’s largest UK Games Studio and a new tech area near the football stadium.

The Catalyst has become the latest building to open its doors at the £350m Newcastle Helix scheme, as the home to the National Innovation Centre for Ageing (NICA), the National Innovation Centre for Data (NICD) and the NIHR Innovation Observatory.

The aim is to cultivate a tech district in The North of England that champions ageing intelligence, data science and emerging technologies. Mark Martin MBE (Picture Above) co-founder of UKBlackTech visited the new tech distrct last month. The visit was at aimed at bringing more homegrown talent and resprentation to the region. But most importantly creating a space for diverse innovators and technologist to contribute to the productivity of the region.
