Meta is seeking a highly motivated, energetic team player to serve as Lead Content Counsel for the EMEA region. The position will provide a multitude of legal support for content issues across Meta’s family of apps and services. You will manage emerging content regulatory matters across the region and advise internal teams on compliance and legal risks. The role requires big picture thinking, good judgment, a strong work ethic, and a keen interest in learning about new technologies and areas of the law. Lead Counsel – Content Legal (EMEA) Responsibilities:

  • Develop expertise and provide expert legal advice across emerging content regulation trends throughout the region. Work closely with relevant product, operations and legal teams on building compliance solutions.
  • Support and help efficiently resolve escalations involving content and integrity issues, including: elections, time sensitive issues, policy and press inquiries, among others
  • Counsel internal operations teams managing legal reporting channels and other intake channels
  • Develop creative and pragmatic approaches to managing legal risks associated with the application and enforcement of myriad content regulations
  • Work with cross-functional teams on public policy, communications, global operations, legal operations, product, privacy, IP and compliance
  • Supervise and direct outside counsel on multiple legal matters

Minimum Qualifications:

  • EU or UK qualified lawyer with 3-5 years PQE in a law firm or in-house (permitted to practice in relevant jurisdiction)
  • 3+ years litigation and/or regulatory compliance experience, including experience dealing with legal / contentious matters, ideally across multiple jurisdictions
  • Understanding and experience of EU intermediary liability frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and make sound judgments under tight deadlines
