
Facilities Manager
The Facilities Manager will ensure the Factory building and surrounding public realm and service yards are maintained to the highest standard. This includes the fabric of the building, plant and equipment in both planned preventative and emergency and reactive maintenance. They will ensure statutory compliance and best practice are adhered to and auditable records are kept in good order.
The Facilities Manager will lead the Facilities and Maintenance Teams, including managing outsourced Hard and Soft FM contractors and specialist vendors. They will proactively manage the performance of the Hard and Soft FM contracts, through which the main mechanical, electrical, plant and waste services and inspections are delivered to the Factory. The post holder will develop and embed a cohesive, efficient, cost-effective and robust facilities and maintenance structure whilst always keeping environmental sustainability, access and customers at the heart of what we do.
Responsibilities include:
• Leading on delivery and implementation of capital works, managing capital asset lifecycle, including end of life replacement and strategies to extend working life, delaying final replacement
• Being responsible for statutory compliance across all building related systems, (including but not exclusively: life systems, legionella testing, and periodic electrical testing) managing regular testing of the fire alarm system and ensuring all required record keeping is robust
• Proficiently managing the Building Management System (BMS), documenting and training key staff on BMS operation and CAFM system, producing reports and analytics. Through this data being proactive in driving down facilities running costs, in supporting required external reporting and meeting the Factory 5 Year Sustainability Strategy
• Being flexible, solution orientated and able to work under pressure – ready to work alongside Visitor Experience, Producers, Production and Technical teams, Event Managers, Commercial, Development and Creative Engagement colleagues to enable them to make the most of our spaces and facilities
• Ensuring that the property, soft & hard services, plant and equipment, and the fabric of the building relating to the Factory is maintained, tested and inspected, and presented to the highest standard (including completion of repairs and maintenance)
• With the Head of Visitor Experience and Front of House management team working to ensure that the building is presented to the highest standards and is always safe for use by staff, visitors and anyone else who is within the demise of the building
• Developing essential building records, drawings and data monitoring from the BMS and CAFM ensuring that information is up to date and relevant
• Managing waste disposal contracts to effectively dispose of waste in line with the Factory/MIF’s 5-year Sustainability Plan, aiming to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill and increase levels of recycling
Essential requirements include:
• Proven experience of managing and motivating a team to achieve consistently high levels of performance
• Familiar with Building Management Systems
• Experience of developing a preventative maintenance plan and capital asset lifecycle strategy
• IOSH qualified
• Experience of managing external contractors and contract delivery with robust KPIs
• Commitment to championing representation and inclusion at every level of the organisation with a proven ability to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds
