Digital Services Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Services Manager to join us. We want someone to take those first steps to truly revolutionising the way we offer our services to our 47,000 members at the University of Manchester and the wider general public. As well as leading the Students’ Union, our Digital Services Manager would also work with our award-winning venue Manchester Academy to support the successful implementation of our EPOS system.

Our Digital Services Manager will help grow our digital expertise and capabilities and we have plans to build a well-resourced and supported Digital Services function in its own right within the organisation.

As well as the role itself, working for such a multi-faceted organisation will give the successful candidate an opportunity to develop new skills, learn about the role at SU can play in transforming students’ lives as well as the wider Greater Manchester community.

What you’ll be doing:

To develop this area of activity creating a roadmap for the implementation and development digital services ensuring that we are operating in a digital first way, adopting best practice and are at the forefront of new trends.
To effectively project manage all digital changes and new implementations.
Maintain a positive working relationship with the University of Manchester IT directorate and key contacts with our software providers.
Install, configure, test and deploy hardware, software and systems for use by staff and students.
To engage with students and colleagues across the Union to scope out digital needs, identify solutions, facilitate implementation and provide training and skills development opportunities.
To develop our internal digital support mechanisms, working closely with the Head of Operations, University IT and software providers to ensure that we have seamless support for all of our digital services.
